I've been waiting for Masterbox to produce the one they'd announced years ago but which I notice has now disappeared from their website, I wonder if this announcemnt is linked?

Bronco are rapidly becomming my manufacturer of choice with all these Airborne subjects and I'm going to be very happy but a lot poorer if they carry on like this.

Just one question about the artwork. Why is there a Lancaster flying overhead?

Apparently it is the work of Masterbox.

Bronco are rapidly running out of Airborne Forces subjects but there are still some interesting items left.

Its an early Mk1, its got airbrakes which were removed early in the production run. I can also see areas where work will be needed (those holes in the passenger seats will need filling for a start). But who cares it'll be a minimum of 2 for me.

I hate to ask the difficult questions but do we have any idea of the cost of this beast?

Looking at the breakdown of parts this is one kit where the opening line of most kit reviews can be ignored. This is one aircraft where building the cockpit can be left to the last!

And if its only in the £50 region I may have to up my buy to 3.

Its now available to Pre order in Japan for the equivalent of £110.. so , what £130 or so in the UK.. I think I'll pass!

With Bronco having already produced the Locust and 17 Pounder and shortly to release a Morris C8 to tow one can I hope for a Hamilcar next year?

Bronco are running out of British airborne subjects although I hope the RE Flying Flea on the Horsa boxart is a hint of things to come.

A sensible use of the molds as many will be put off by the size of the complete aircraft (2.5 ft ish wingspan) . I can foresee many vignettes using that fuselage section. Those two wings sections would look good as a load for a Queen Mary trailer (I have a photo of such a load).

2.5ft wingspan is a monster, same size as a 1/24th Buccaneer length.

I now have one of these on the bench. Its everything I expected, its big, its expensive and as I thought from the pictures of the sprues, its a canvas for added detail. The breakdown of the fusealge into panels will need care to get a true cylinder without visible seams. I'm not expecting a fast build as I want to do justice to this one.

News from Bronco as they are set to release their second variant of the Horsa glider, this time the Mk II with the hinged nose section, making it much easier to load/unload vehicles from inside the fuselage.
