ajcm
Thanks for following and for your comments . Wow. I would be really interested in how exacly you do the shading. Rene Rene I use post-shading. I did not take pictures of the process I use when I painted Olive Drab but took pictures with Neutral Gray. Applied the Neutral Gray (XF-53 Tamiya). In a new bottle, made a mix. XF-53 (1), white (0.5) and thinner (4). With this mixture I painted the interior of the panels. Another bottle and this time the XF-53 mixed with black in the same proportion. XF-53 (1), black (0.5) and thinner (4). With this mixture, painted lines of the panels. Once again I apply the two mixtures with fine lines as possible. First clearer and then the darkest. In fuselage apply them vertically. In the wings apply them towards flight. Olive Drab procedure in the same way. The only difference is that the green color with yellow and not white. I hope you understand because my English is not very good. ajcm
Thanks for following and for your kind words. Thank you . Wash and matt varnish. Here two pieces (three) that will be changed. The propeller of the plane noticed a photo that has chipped paint and bazukas that did not exist in the plane when the pilot ended his commission. Came later. Photo. ajcm
Tremendous model of a wonderful kit - great stuff! Gary Gary Thanks . I glued the rearview mirror, doors and landing gear. Fix the propeller, this time without the chipped. Missing a wash and then clear matte. The blast tubes were the guns are enclosed are not black. What is missing. I think everything should be ready tomorrow. Regards ajcmac
Plm
Hello, Stunning paint job and weathering. About the propeller, it seems to me that the one you have taken is a Curtiss Electric thin blade propeller, but for me on the real plane picture, the propeller is a Curtiss Electric symetrical paddle blade propeller which has more round tips. Just check it if you have more pictures. Regards.

If one of the blades seems to have round tips, top left, the other I think not, top right. In the second, we see barely, I can not say which of the two is. I have a third, it is certain that it is an illustration, but is identical to that I used. I have the propeller comes in the kit, to which it refers. I'll try to find more photos and if not correct, it is a matter of exchanging. Anyway thanks for the call to attention. Regards ajcmac
Biggles87
Fantastic build. The Tamiya P-47 is a really great kit and you have given it the finish it deserves.
Plm
Hi, Not easy to know which kind of propeller was used. One your first picture, that was the top left blade which make me think that it's a paddle blade propeller, round tip and the fact that the blade becomes wider after the cuff. But on the color picture, it's the thin blade propeller. B On the picture below of the pilot of your P-47, it's a symetrical paddle blade. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bud_Mahurin#mediaviewer/File:Mahurin-L.jpg And we know that many propellers had been changed on P-47 during wartime in the field. So both propellers may be right. Regards
greatgonzo
There is no riddle here. On the colour pic You have Autumn 1943 and the toothpick blade. 16 kills on the board would put the bird into March 1944 and symmetrical CE paddleblade fixed on the nose, as it is seen on the black & white picture. I mean the pics on the second side if the thread. Edited August 24, 2014 by greatgonzo
