Guest Posted June 22, 2014 Posted June 22, 2014 (edited) Having been brought up near Filton airfield, I have set myself the task of building as many aircraft associated with Filton over the years, to a greater or lesser extent. This will be done in 1/144 due to limited storage space. I have started with VC10 RB211 testbed G-AXLR, VFW614 D-BABC and DC-3 G-AMPO. If anyone has photos/slides etc of aircraft at Filton and would be willing to share tham with me, please let me know. Edited July 10, 2014 by jonbru1
bzn20 Posted June 28, 2014 Posted June 28, 2014 (edited) What was the VFW doing at Filton? Was it for servicing or just flying in and out? I've never seen one. I worked at Filton on A300, A310 and VC-10 in the Brabazon Hangar. I don't have any pics though, sorry! Don't forget the Guppies and F-111's. Edited June 28, 2014 by bzn20
Guest Posted July 10, 2014 Posted July 10, 2014 (edited) VFW was with Rolls Royce, including flying a lot of left hand circuits from the then runway 28 to check out public response to the noise, among other tasks. This link is to an image of the aircraft at Filton. http://www.transportarchive.org.uk/printobject.php?rnum=G2031&searchitem=&mtv=G1&pnum=33 Edited July 10, 2014 by jonbru1
