1/48 Argentinian Navy A-4Q Skyhawk

Recommended Posts

Hi gang,

Here is my 1/48 A-4Q Skyhawk converted from the Hasegawa E/F kit with the Aconcagua resin set. This model depicts 3-A-301 from 1st Air Naval Attack Squadron as flown by Lt. Roberto Sylvester against HMS Ardent on 21st May 1982. It's the first time I've tried to make an aircraft this dirty, and although I'm pleased with it, it might be a little heavy handed.

As usual, several members chipped in with help and references on my WIP thread, which you can see here: http://www.britmodeller.com/forums/index.php?/topic/234957342-148-a-4q-argentinian-navy-may-1982/ . Particular thanks go to f4h1phantom and Luis Pacheco

I hope you like it, thanks for looking,

Gareth

Thanks for the comments everyone.

exdraken - check the linked WIP for some of the issues with the resin.

Great looking build.

I think the weathering is spot on as naval aircraft always seem to get mucky.

I have an Argentine Skyhawk on my desk too at the moment. Mine is the Argentine boxing from Hasegawa though, so no need for major conversion. I guess I'm partly to blame for you not being able to find any A-4B/Cs. ;)
