Harvs73
I have started to post images and scans of the Red Roo Models 1/72 Martin Mariner updates sets on AMI.http://www.aussiemodeller.com.au/forum/viewtopic.php?f=28&t=8686They are going to be doing a few variants including:1. justplanecrazy
Need to check with Gary & Ed to see it it would be of any use with the Mach2 kit.
Nobby57
Excellent! Just what I'm looking for...and yes; are the RAF GR Mk.1 parts suitable for the Mach2 kit? I suppose any modeller worth their salt would say 'does it really matter', but for me, as I'll be building this for someone else, it really does. Thanks for the info Harvs73...and thanks Red Roo. Ed Russell
As per my PM to both of you, you don't really need the Red Roo conversion kit to make a Mariner GR.1 from the Mach2 kit. However I would think that the Minicraft kit plus our conversion would give a rather better result though. You can use the RAAF PBM-3R conversion set with the Mach2 kit but you are going to have a few parts duplicated. There are some fair but somewhat less than complimentary reviews of the Mach2 kit here http://www.internetmodeler.com/2001/august/first-looks/mach2_mariner.htm http://www.kitreview.com/reviews/pbmmarinerreviewcedw_1.htm just so you know what you are up against. We have built the Minicraft kit and we are quite happy with it http://www.britmodeller.com/forums/index.php?/topic/234953574-martin-mariner-minicraft-model-and-red-roo-bits-article-info-too/ There should be a review and build of the GR.1 on Britmodeller before too long. Please note we don't at this time have a UK agent but we can fulfill orders directly.
Nobby57
Thank you for that information Ed...it looks like this Mach 2 'commission' will be followed by a Minicraft a/c and at least your conversion set. I've actually fallen in love with the type and plan a second in USN or RAAF colours. May I please be a pain and ask you to email the upper surfaces camoiuflage pattern please. My email Address is [email protected]. I will acknowledge your assistance in the WIP section too, so many, many, thanks once more.
