Its been a while since I posted any updates on this build, mainly because not too much progress has been made but I have at least started the painting process now and also started to build the Universal Carrier and figures that I shall use in the diorama.

Figures looking good - nice to see more Tamiya British infantry figs :)

That stowage on the back of the Universal Carrier looks great and I never realised the figures that came with it were such interesting poses!

I am making some progress at last on this diorama after a fairly slow period over the summer. All construction and painting is now finished and just the weathering, flat varnish and personal weapons to add, plus the diorama base, hope to get it all finished in the next couple of weeks.

Nearly there at last. The Sherman, Carrier and figures are all complete and just need to be put into a diorama which I shall be working on this week. Nothing too fancy so hopefully it should all be finished by the 5th. If not at least the Sherman can go into the gallery as it is. :)

Finished! Just in time. Spent most of the weekend working on the scenery and although it's a bit rushed it will have to do. No progress shots on the base I'm afraid.

The scene represents a Sherman Mk.V Crab from No.2 Troop, 1st Lothian and Border Horse Yeomary, 79th Armoured Division and a Universal Carrier of the 3rd Infantry Division. The time is late July 1944 soon after the 1st L&BHY landed in Normandy and they have probably yet to see action given how intact the flails still are.

I had the pleasure of seeing these two models last week at the Sheffield club meet before Andrew mounted them onto a base and they are superb; the crab in particular is a deeply impressive model.

Well done Andrew!
