tonyot
I`ve always liked AVRE`s Andy and you are doing a fine job so far,......Certa Cito mate,........keep up the great work! Your poor Brother,.... how he must look up to you and be so disappointed that he just could not cut the mustard and join our Corps! OzH
Been beavering away on the AVRE Engine fully installed, chassis almost done Then, I found this on Ian’s Kits for Cash site, bought and delivered quickly… Then a few nights starting with these… Cutting them into these Connecting them up To make these (a couple of shots of the first track completed) 73 links done, another 73 to go!!
fatfingers
Nice! I've got the Dieppe version of the MkIII that has the indie links. Can i ask are the tracks user 'friendly'? Regards Steve

OzH
Not updated this one for a while.. Construction all but complete ready for paint now. I plan to have her looking like she has been abandoned as in the header photo, but maybe a day or so later, so a little picked over.. The “Inside the Armour” turret base is wider than the kit part, so I had to modify the area’s around the turret ring, basically, move everything out my a couple of millimeters, fits now though!! Just a bit of masking off the interior so should get some undercoat on this afternoon

heloman1
Interesting build Oz, I like the treatment of the engine and like others am interested in ARVE's, always the unloved part of the armoured unit. OzH
So, got some painting done during the week, Kleared now awaiting decals (hopefully tonight). I have noticed a few "white bits" where the undercoat is still showing through, have to patch them up later.. And all the "bits"..

OzH
All done... Looking at the original photo of “Cheetah” on the beach on D-Day, I would assume (as the wounded are lined up alone her track side), that she had either broken down or been knocked out. I’ve tried to finish her looking as she may have done on D-Day +1, some attempt has been made to get her going that has failed so she has been abandoned. Some kit has been “liberated”, the pioneer tools and kit rolls off the turret. Edited October 5, 2014 by OzH
