elger Posted September 7, 2014 Author Share Posted September 7, 2014 Decals on. I modified decals from the Xtradecal Lancaster b.ii sheet to get the markings I needed. "J1-K2" (LL670) was easily modified to "JI-K", and the serial number DS824 was cobbled together from DS827 (A4-R) and DS604 (QR-W). Now on to weathering, final assembly and finishing. As near as I can tell, starting in the early 1930's, Bristol started painting their gear casings on military engines, a semi-gloss black. Please people, spread the word. Too many otherwise great models are spoiled, in my eyes at least, by having grey painted gear casings on their Bristol Peggys, Mercs and Hercs.
