plastic-stasher
I now have the Airfix kit and am about to embark on my little photo reconnaissance project. As I wanted to depict my XIX in a natural metal finish, I was a little concerned at the panel lines and rivets. A very thin coating of ALCLAD will do nothing to hide them, and they seem a bit too obvious in that scale. Should I give everything a coat of surfacer first, do you think?. In any event, painting is a long way off as yet, and I would be grateful for any other tips on the construction. Thanks in advance Derek
dragonlanceHR
Are you talking about 1/72 or 1/48 scale kit? On 1/48 scale kit I found out that after a light polish with a polishing compound, apart from smoothing the kits surface, the panel lines look much, much sharper. Edgar
If you follow Alclad's recommendations, and prime the plastic before painting, the panel lines will tend to diminish anyway. Edgar
