1/48 F-15l Ra'am, 255 Sqn, Israeli Air Force

Recommended Posts

Hello all,

Here is my recently finished Revell F-15E converted to an F-15l Ra'am of the Israeli Air Force. All conversion parts were pinched from a spare Academy Ra'am I had lying around. Extras included resin seats, FOD covers and Eduard remove before flight tags, all from the spares box. Build thread is here

I wanted to try and depict a heavily bombed-up and weathered jet but I may have overdone the weathering slightly!

Fiddling about with a new camera so the pictures are a bit iffy!

Comments welcome, thanks for looking.

Any reason you just build revell f15s? I've built a tamiya(rubbish) and hasegawa(excellent) and have a academy in the stash. Maybe need to try the revell one too.

The Revell kit is by far the most accurate 1/48 F-15E on the market... Probably the nicest 1/48 F-15 kit in general. Just my humble opinion (I Haven't seen the GWH kit yet).

Thanks for the comments everyone!

They are probably the best fitting kit i've ever made and are a lot cheaper than the Hasegawa kits. Academy's are fine, but not 100% accurate in some areas. I'll have to get a Hasegawa kit for the Israeli A, Japanese DJ and USAF C versions I plan to build.

A smart looking Ra'am.That spured me to build a similar F15I with the inclusion of the recently added R2D2 (Artoo Detoo) on the canopy hump.Hopefully the build will be somewhere near to yr high stardard.congrats, that's really a desert king!

Looks fantastic. I don't think you have gone too far with the weathering.

Cheers,

Tom.

Cracking F-15I Dave and an impresive collection of F-15s you have there. The IDF camo colours look spot on.

Cheers. Gary

Dave,

Looks good to me. Camo looks right, weapons combo looks reasonable. Like you, I like the F-15E/I/K
