1/48 Mirage 2000D - Operation Serval

Recommended Posts

Hello There!

Here is my latest finished build.

It depicts the ground attack version of the Mirage 2000 as seen in operations above Mali in 2013.

I used the Ialeri/Kinetic boxing with Wolfpack cockpit and Renaissance exhaust nozzle.

The wing tanks are replaced with my resin casting.

Decals are from Italeri and Carpena/berna.

Paints are Humbrol hand sprayed with my 0,15mm Infinity.

Clear coats are Microscale Gloss, Satin and matt.

Washes with oil "sepia".

Dust is done with pigments.

Hope you like it.

Cheers

Romain

Wow... To me that looks absolutely stunning - the weathering, detail, photography - everything! An important operation for Mali and the French Forces, a fitting model to match the finesse of la Francaise!

very nice and very realistic looking!

I especially like the brown/sand dust on the upper fuselage!

:)

how about the kit?

you replaced the exhaust nozzle with a really nice looking one!

hi guys!

thank you very much.

Happy you like it ;^)

Exdraken, the "Italetic" kit went quite well together.

Not so much putty was used.

Just a little bit on the intakes and the nose, being to big in diameter compared to the fuselage.

The exhaust is very nice and comes from Renaissance:

cheers!

This build is very inspiring.

I have been doing some research on the external and the consensus is the kit's tanks have a wrong shape.

If I want to have tanks in the right shape, what are my options? What aftermarket external fuel tanks are there or what will be the method to modify kits tanks to conform to the right shape.
