Thanks for all the comments. Some major progress, the wings are on, some fit issues funnily enough but shouldn't be too difficult to overcome. I had removed the locating tab from the lower wing section as I had already identified this as a problem. This produced a thinner locating tab so the wing could be moved around within the locating tab to get the best fit. This worked to a point, I'm pleased with the starboard wing but the port side didn't work out quite as well, I used CA to fix the wings into position and by the time I noticed the port side wasn't quite in the best spot it had set in place! :weep: However I've put a strip of thin plastic along the gap and the joins have been given a covering of Mr Surfacer.

I had also added the nose ring yesterday and this is now blended into the fuselage, again using Mr Surfacer 500.

Can't believe it's been 10 months or so since my last update on this! Lost my mojo with it but it came running back a month or so ago and got a lot more done. You'll have to excuse crap rushed photo's taken with my phone the jump in progress but this is where it's at now..........

Masked up bits to add some bright green then it'll be a matt coat.

he's back!

nice to see THAT update!

looking absolutely stunning!

any plans for armament?

Eduard, Aires, Upnorth, and Advanced Modelling do really really nice bombs and missiles...

think about it!

and for external tanks GWH has them in their MiG-29 kits... 1150l in the newer boxings, 800l in their older ones if you shorten the too short ones (for 1150l ;) of course)

they are much nicer than the kit supplied ones!

Thanks folks, will continue at a snails pace probably as I have another two builds on the go at the moment.

I'm thinking I'll put two drop tanks on the fuselage pylons and then a couple of Eduard UB-16 rockets pods on the outer wing pylons and a couple of Advanced Modelings big flat faced cluster bombs on the inner pylons. Will have to confirm if this is a valid payload, can remember someone posting previously that the weapons system could be programmed to either fire missiles/rockets or drop free fall bombs but not both, but I might be getting my wires crossed.

I had wondered about the Mig-29 tanks in the GWH kits as I thought they looked the same. I do have a few sets going spare but I've already painted up the kit ones and I have another couple of Fitters in the stash so will keep them for those kits. Thanks for the info.

I'd assume you are talking about harvy5, an (ex?)armourer of SU-25s and probably 22s.

you an find him on the forums, he knows lots and lots of exactly this stuff!

If my memory serves me right, only one of each kind could be programmed! so only one typ of rockets, bombs or missiles as the weapons computer could only calculate impact points for one type during one mission. mixed loads being possible.. (hope this is fine!)

your loadout seems fine to me, but more likely being UB-32 or B-8Ms on a Fitter!

Yes that's the chap, Harvy5. Was going with the UB-16 as I have them handy, may have to purchase some UB-32's though!

Amazingly another update although not much to show, got the bright green on the leading edges and under the forward fuselage done using Akan's Radome Green. I also got a semi-matt varnish down, was going to go for matt varnish but decided to go with the semi matt to see how it looks.

:goodjob:UB-16 do not give the most commonly used B-8 and sometimes when it was necessary to destroy the rockets S-5, UB-32

To exdraken I'm just an ex-engineer Su-25, the first was airframe and engine and other was my hobby ....
