theplasticsurgeon
OMG - another GB sheaks up - without me noticing! Tim's Airfix Harrier GR7 build with this kit. I've been looking for an excuse to build this one as the box has been crushed under my massive stash. I have another copy of the plastic in the Airfix Club gift set - the one with Sea Harrier FA2 Satan 1. Another long term inmate of my stash - this kit cost me 3.99 at Avon Model show in 1999. A few years ago I acquired the MA-72102 set FREE, enabling me to do the Lichen Green aircraft with No4 HiViz tail. xffw45343tg
Who needs wings with a Harrier? Harrier pilots who want roll control and/or not to fall over on the ground.
theplasticsurgeon
OK, so roll control restored - temporarilyAnd Lichen Green found in my paint store.
theplasticsurgeon
And the specified Army Green on top. Yellow fin in preparation for decals. And from underside, there is a slight difference in greens.
xffw45343tg
They look great in green. That's not the final colour for the nozzles is it? The front ones in particular are a fair bit lighter than that. Think they're titanium. Kirk
Alex Gordon
That's looking rather good so far, there's a certain something about the two greens scheme.

xffw45343tg
What's not to love! This is looking great. Kirk (PS. Some detail colour observations: Black headrest pad, decorated with sort of bronze coloured parachute riser webs. The deck area aft of the seat bulkhead is green, I think, though the internals of the canopy frame are indeed black.)

Also most decals are on. Whilst the canopy is secure, I've mislaid the rest of the transparency sprue. Hence I've just fashioned a HUD from clear plastic packaging. More pics when my photobucket account resets.
theplasticsurgeon
Well work is continuing - though I can't share it with you at the moment. Canopy is on and framed, and I've just completed the prominent seal around the glazed area. I am keeping photos for when my account resets itself next week. xffw45343tg
Very accurate placement on those decal strips - though they look a little bright. The 1:1 stuff is a little like household window putty. Kirk
Jabba
Very nice, and like everyone else says especially the sealing around the canopies.
theplasticsurgeon
Today I fitted undercarriage doors - whilst watching Spain's defeat.I'll mix some muck in when I matt this down, to tone down those seals.
