robvulcan
Hi all I was looking though my photos from my Iphone and come across these of the Jaguars at Cosford in June 2013. I took loads of photos of them as I was very happy to see them all over the place. Mad me feel old though. As I remember being at school with all these hammering over us. Now they are not being used its sad. But great to see the wrap around scheme which for me is "proper colours" Along with the black ones. Particularly the one with the saint on the tail. Ironic this was the first Airshow I attended with my parents with me in 20 years and the first one we went to together in 1992 had a black Jag with a saint on. Cheers Rob Stuff like this is always fun.

Fritag
They look lovely - and rather sad at the same time I've may well have flown XX743 'EG' - but it depends when it was grounded (it's got the early Mk 9 seat head box) I think I'll have a squint in my log book. They're a cracking set of photos for seeing how the wrap around scheme fades/weathers (Edit: Log book squint over - No XX743. She left Coltishall for storage at Shawbury in Feb 1985 - which wos the month before I arrived.) Edited April 30, 2014 by Fritag

They're a cracking set of photos for seeing how the wrap around scheme fades/weathers That's cool mate. Yep that's why I posted them to show how wildly different the colours can get. The one in the end is very dark were the one next to it looks MSG , I love how patchy they are. I now paint models to look right and use call outs as a guide. It is a sad sight made me feel old as when I saw these it was the first time I had seen wrap arounds since school on the playing field shouting WOW as they thundered and woodshed over. School was exciting then. We all wanted to grow up to fly them but now everyone stacks shelves in tesco express...... Sigh
Rick Brown
I dream of stacking shelves in Tescos! Great pictures, thanks for posting them. Rick.
robvulcan
Ill post the others later. Aye it shows how bad things are when that's all the country has to offer and its hard to attain even that. On the us side we still have lots of jags to look at. Most of these at cosford are still being used to hammer down the runway regularly apparently !

Vally G
Amazing what a coat of glossy black paint can do for a Jaguar. Unlike their clunky-looking camouflaged counterparts, they look downright elegant! Adam

Hasnt got boring seeing them out on the airfield running up and taxing about yet Glad your learning and enjoying it. I would love to know when they are running them as I would love to drive up and watch just to hear those big engines again. So sad they are tearing them up. For me I would want to see them receive and upgrade and be put back into active service. Such a great airframe. I have some more photos I will upload them later on or tomorrow. Some nice sunset shots Cheers Rob

And we do tear them apart but we do also put them all back together dont worry, they are kept in a good condition
Cookenbacher
Thanks for posting these Rob! I've got a couple of 1/72 Jaguars on the way - supposed to be here next week. It is fascinating how they fade alright. Gonna have to rethink how I approach painting them and the Whif Falcon.
