Airfix 1/24 Hawker Typhoon on the flight line...

Recommended Posts

Upon first seeing the plastic in photos I was seriously impressed but now having seen the beautiful job you've done I'm thinking Airfix have revitalised the 24th scale model kit as a viable option for many. Of course it'll take up a lot of space but it'll also require a lot of time so perhaps no more room than the several smaller scale kits we'd build in the same time.

I hope the team are busy working on their next 24th scale project at the moment!

That is incredible. Your skill is phenominal. I like large scale kits and might need to add this to my ever increasing stash.

Cheers,

Tom.

If I had harboured any reservations about getting one of these after (or perhaps despite) the earlier photos - and I didn't - this build would have just blown them away. Truly wonderful

Nice work doesn't do that justice! That is simply stunning!

Congratulations to Airfix for producing such a fabulous canvas and Steve (DWW) for bringing it to life so convincingly!

Fantastic!

Going slightly off topic, it does pose the question whether there should be a follow on release, the only obvious candidate I can think of that doesn't already exist in this scale is a late mark Spitfire

Actually, the obvious candidate is some 1/24th scale groundcrew to be swarming all over it and giving all of that lovely detail some context!

After that I'd be happy with a Spitfire IX/XVI or XIV in that scale.

I am no great fan of the Typhoon as a type, but I have to concede that that is one beautiful kit and your workmanship exemplary!
