IMPORTANT!!!!

A model kit company has requested that Detail & Scale help them determine the potential interest and demand for a kit they are considering producing. They have requested that we ask the following question:

WHAT INTEREST WOULD YOU HAVE FOR A KIT OF THE GRUMMAN F11F-1 TIGER IN 1/48th AND 1/32nd SCALE?

The company has asked and will be watching the responses here. So now is your chance to let your voice and desires be heard.

If you would like to see a kit of the F11F-1 Tiger in either of these scales, please click the "LIKE" button for this post, and please feel free to post your comments below.

Not on FaceBook but Yes IN 48th We all know it makes sense. Just make sure they talk to the right people before committing to cutting metal. Tommy Thomason, Navybird et al.

Well if they are talking to Detail & Scale I am sure they are putting them in touch with the right people.

Drawings are an interpretation of a real aircraft. CAD model is an interpretation of the drawings. The right people can throw tons of good reference at the designer, there's no guarantee that he won't misinterpret it or overlook some aspects of it. The right people should check the model during its design but the designer may not accept this.

Kitty hawk maybe in the future, we will make all 1/32 kits in 1/48 and visa/versa

So let's take 'em by their words...

Sort of odd decision to release the 1/32nd kit first, somewhat contrasting to the common folk's predominant request for a quarterscale version. Anyway, I'm eager to see them progressing - another all-time favourite of mine forthcoming.

We live in hope it can come back in 1.48.

Pretty sure there might be a market in 1.48. Would be a shame to just throw away the research done so far.

This kit would have looked great in 1/32nd, but, hopefully all the work done so far can lead to a 1/48th.

I agree that there may be a better market in 1/48th.

If you are on Facebook, join the Kittyhawk group and voice your opinion if you want to see this in 1/48.

Every `vote` may help.

The FM 1/48th Tiger isnt a bad model ( by their standards!!) But it's hard to find and pricey on eBay now. Id say a 1/48th kit would sell OK.

Jonners - but I am a Tiger fan!!

:crying:So,iIs it to be in 1/32nd scale then? Me nay happy. Woulda liked it in 1/48th scale instead... Yeh, me woulda. Especially, 'em long-nosey version.

Yeh, the Fonderie Models kit is quite good, but pricey ('n' nosey, like my sis :lol:), as my mate Jonners has stated it himself.

Cheers,

Hello, everyone,

Need your help with finding photos of the F11F-1 Long Nose with the following units:

F11F-1 LN with the VF-51 (July 58);

F11F-1 LN with the VF-24 (Dec 58) or / and with the VF-211 (Mar 59);

F11F-1 LN with the VF-111/ VA-156 (Dec 59)?

Any pointers where I can find such photos? I saw some graphic images/artworks on the Internet done on some of the F11F-1s with these units/squadrons but cannot find the photos that might were used by the artist to create his artworks on...

Please help?

And yes, we are developing an F11F-1 Long Nose model kit in few scales... https://www.facebook.com/people/DBMK-Model-Kits/100084846155184/
