jaw
I want to add a 1/72 scale D H Venom NF3 to my collection. It seems as though there could be 2 ways of doing this - firstly by converting the Frog Sea Venom to the RAF version, or by buying the (expensive) C M R kit. Has any BMer tried the conversion? If so, what is involved? I know that the arrester hook shround would need to be removed, the wingtip tanks modified and I think the cockpit canopy changed ( does the Vampire T11 canopy fit the bill?) Or is it easier and better to stump up the cash for the CMR kit? Has anybody got a CMR kit that they want to get rid of? I'd be grateful for advice please. Thanks, John
Duncan B
The CMR kit is a beauty, I can recommend it. It is a resin kit of course but the engineering is such that it is a relatively straightforward build. There was a discussion on here a few years back about the conversion and there are a lot of smaller details that require changing if you want accuracy, might be worth doing a search for that thread. jaw
Thanks for your comments. A 'sod it' (can I say that?) so I have ordered the CMR kit. John
Canberra Fan
Guys, As I write this I'm on holiday in the US, I can't be certain but whilst in one of the numerous model shops I have visited I'm think I spotted a Cyber-hobby NF3 in 1/72. As you haven't mentioned I suspect I'm mistaken, but I'm sure it was 1/72 scale. Mal Edited April 27, 2014 by Canberra Fan
Canberra Fan
Or maybe it's just such a bad kit it wasn't worth mentioning!
