Arie
This project is a bit dear to my heart. Serial 87-0243 is my assigned jet, hence the wife jokingly refering to her as the 'mistress'... She's Academy's 1/72 F-16C finished with Wolfpack's D.C. Air National Guard marks & custom serials, along with an aftermarket wide-mouth inlet & GE style exhaust to convert her to a Block 30. With all the F-16 kits out there, you'd think they'd make a USAF Block 30, but as far as I can tell, they don't... The deployed speed brakes are scratch built & she's configured for QRA over Washington D.C., which is the unit's full-time mission. Please forgive me for not having her properly grounded & safed for maintainence, hope you enjoy And just a few snaps of her full sized sisters in action... [/url] Cheers, Arie

Arie
Outstanding!!! Wonderful work! Can you show us some shots of the display? Is it Andrews AFB? Thanks! Absolutely…yes, indeed, it's Andrews—the 121st FS is based there & the pics are from a 'Fertile Keynote' air defence exercise a few years back. I had the privilege of flying along with the Civil Air Patrol in a Cessna 172 as the F-16s practiced intercepting us. Seeing an F-16 in your back window is quite a thrill, I must say! woody37
Great pics and build, must be great building the actual aircraft you fly, especially when its an F16!
bunnylurve
Sweet 16! Hard to tell the model from the real deal. I think Tamiya do a block 30 as part of their Aggressor/Adversary boxing. But..it's 1/48 and it's expensive!
Arie
Many thanks all for the kind words... Great pics and build, must be great building the actual aircraft you fly, especially when its an F16! Thanks Woody, as for flying, I'm a crewchief, so unless I can get a charity hop in the twoseater, I get her when shes broken, empty, and needy Its a fantastic job for a modeller, but I'm still trying for a cockpit slot. Its not easy with all the cuts & budget madness. If ever you see an F-16 flying the Saltire on her canopy rail, you'll know I made it Sweet 16! Hard to tell the model from the real deal.I think Tamiya do a block 30 as part of their Aggressor/Adversary boxing. But..it's 1/48 and it's expensive! Many thanks Sir, I believe you are correct--Tamiya look delectable, but I admit, I haven't summoned the nerve to pay that much for a kit! (I say this, but then I'll pay twice that in bits & bobs to correct some inferior relic--that the irony of our hobby I suppose...
