Bri48
Hi all, Three of these aircraft passed through Prestwick on there way to the USA for conversion. Looking at the state of them its hard to believe they made it, but they did. For me they are most likely the dirtiest Sabres i've seen and i've set out to represent one as best i could. there is better models of this aircraft out there, but i'm satisfied with it.... Brian.
Alpha Delta 210
Good grief, what a mess! (And that's a compliment!) how did you achieve that excellent finish, Brian?
spiton
Good composition .If the chips were better, it would be a very good model.
Bri48
Hi alpha, I basically chucked everything other than the kitchen sink at it. Over on work in progress there a bit of an update how i did it. Hi spiton, yes I agree with that and I did consider trying some of the techniques that would have given me most likely a better chipping effect. In the end I lost interest and just wanted a dirty model which i'm satisfied with. Thanks.

goggsy
Chips look great to me, very good all round. It's amazing the state that f100s got into, especially the danish ones.

Mike DeTorrice
Another outstanding job, Brian ! A particularly effective worn/dirty finish and thus, it looks great. This must be the most exhausted-looking F-100 you've ever done, I imagine ! Mike
Wolwe82
thats one nice F-100, trying new techniques can be mess sometimes, but whatever you used as new technique, you handled it pretty good from me big thumb up
Bri48
Thanks all for your comments, always appreciated. @ Mike, Hi Mike nice to have you back and yes apart from being the dirtiest i've ever attempted - the real thing looks absolutely splendid! @ Wolwee82, Hi there, yes I enjoyed myself trying to achieve a similar finish as the real aircraft, i used silver paint, rub & buff, in fact anything i could get my hands on. There are better model examples of this aircraft out there but as said I thoroughly enjoyed doing it and that's the fun of our hobby! All the best Brian.
Wolwe82
Yes, thats it, enjoying the hobby and the final kit. I realy like it I dont know what technique you used exactly, if you rubbed it through the top paint genly just on dry, but i can recommend you hairspray technique, else with hairspray or with special fluid from mig/ammo/AK, which is made specialy for this technique and works perfectly, allowing you to do anything from little scratches to big chipped areas Its easy to achieve exactly what you want by using this technique. But once again, i like your result as it is anyway
