Emirates A380 - Glasgow visit.

Am sure you've all probably read/heard about this already but in case it's slipped by anyone there will be an Emirates A380 arriving in at Glasgow at 1230ish on Thurs, and departing at 1530ish. It's in to mark 10 years of Emirates ops from Glasgow and will be on the ground for an hour longer than normal, presumably for bagpipes and haggis!!

If anyone is planning to come along for a peek please see the Glasgow Airport info page below, the Airport Police will be monitoring the event closely for security reasons, but it should be a great opportunity to see this beaut (Personally I think it's u.g.l.y! Fact)

Wonder how tight a fit this will be on oor wee runway! Had a C-5 in a couple of times mind you....

Yeah it'll be fine. As I mentioned above there's been more than one visit from a C-5 (the most recent popped a couple of tyres mind you!). I got called out to a 747-400 at New Year a couple of years back after a medical diversion, and after she was de-iced, and refuelled with enough juice to get to L.A I sat in the van at the end of the pier to watch it take off and I must admit I was surprised at how quickly she got airborne, even fully loaded and fuelled.

Will be interesting to see if a 380 fits, but I guess all will become clear on Thurs!!!!!!!! Just hope the reversers and brakes are all in full working order.

The A380 made it in and out of Bhx a few years ago on a shorter runway, so it'll be great to see it in GLA.

I just hope GLA security don't pull their usual stunts and ruin it for anyone wanting to see it!
