IanC
This is the Tamiya Tiger I slightly modified to represent one of the tanks used by SS-Panzer-Grenadier-Division "Das Reich" at Kursk in 1943. It's supposed to be one of the original batch of Tigers that were repainted dark yellow and green over the originally panzer grey, although I'm not so sure the dark yellow was applied as uniformly as I've done it. There's still a lot of debate about the colours of these Tigers. I used Humbrol 67 for the base, with Tamiya XF-60 Dark Yellow and XF-58 Olive Green camo. Tracks are XF-64 Red Brown dry-brushed with H 67. Vallejo varnishes were used, and the weathering was done with a raw umber oil wash, some AK pastels and a touch of dry-brushing. Markings are from Bison Decals. The photos were taken on my phone, so aren't as clear as I'd have liked. I'm looking to invest in a better camera. IanC
Cheers. I forgot to add this one. The kit figure isn't bad, although I think a camouflage jacket would have worked better here.
