Victory 1/100 Heller with Dafi detail etching.

Recommended Posts

Hello John,

this one is included in Plate 4. If ever you need some, give me a sign :-)

Cheers, Daniel

Hello Frank,

wonderful update!

Are you not afraid using the Heller ones? Very thin and this a very dangerous place with lots of possibilities to get broken. I already prepared wooden ones for this spot.

Thanks folks.

Dan. Thanks for that on the Boomkins.
Have used plastic tube with Brass rod, this seems to do the trick, had to taper the plastic, but it all worked out ok.

Well have done the Nets on the bow, took me four attempts.

Still not happy with the Starboard one, might make another.

Thanks fella's.

Well back and had a great time in Germany & Austria.

Had planned to meet Daniel, but missing his email and a delay with the heat coursing the railway tracks to buckle, it was not to be.

'maybe next time;!!!.

Well its back on board I be, so hope to soon carry on where I left off.

Great progress, rigging is not something I will ever look forward to.

I'm going to have to admit to geekiness here and admit that I'm looking forward to rigging mine.

One of the sails also ready for the tie ons and loops/blocks.

The deadeye tie ons need abit of work, but happy with the first result.
Will do the ratlines at the end of the build so I can work inside.

Cheers guy's, much appreciated .

Well having started on the foremast shrouds and using the Heller deadeyes, I wanted to show how I have done this.
The wood ones are much easier having a groove around to hold the ropes so you can turn them.
But here they have to be stuck with CA making sure there the right way around.

At the same time making sure the three holes are clear for the seizing.

The only down side to this method is the small and larger deadeye, but its not to prominent.
For the smaller deadeyes on the channels I use a thinner rope.

Once seized up you lose the gap in the top half of the shroud ropes.

coming on well there Foxy - cant wait to see her complete. Don't forget about those GR logo PE spare bits for your fire buckets if you need them as I noted you did not hook up with Dan while in the Fatherland.
