kpnuts
Totally awesome work I would dearly love to do hellers soliel royal but after the reale de france the instructions and rigging scare the bebejevers out of me you are a brave man, and have the patience of a saint with all the detail you add.

foxy
Cheers Callum mate.I to have been remiss from this build. But now taking an interest again, this by adding the 12 Pdrs to the upper deck.Adding varies bits to this deck like the forecastle loo entrances.Plus varies posts to support the front of the forecastle. The overall placing of the 12 Pdrs.Next its the block and tackle to add to the guns.Railings around the hatch's and some more detail to the forecastle area. Then some crew and other detail.foxy

warreni
That is the first 3 scanned I have 24 of these in total if you want them posted here Frank. Keith Hi Keith. Any chance of getting those scans? Awesome build mate. I hope mine turns out half as good when I finally get around to building the old girl. Cheers Warren
Jockster
That last shot is pretty spectacular Frank, this is the first time I've had a true impression of her immense size! There's a very good look to her already. When she is eventually masted and rigged she's going to be pretty mind blowing.
warreni
That photo has made it look much bigger than it is Mr Jockster. I have it in my stash as well and the big thing you really notice is the width. Much different to warships nowadays length/width. Cheers Warren
foxy
Cheers folks. When your working on her with fixing the block and tackle, it seems very small. But have now completed this task, 'Phew'. Just a glimse of the work. Then its down to the nitty gritty for this deck. I am still in two minds to beam the Forecastle end so as to have some canvas partitions. Plus Nelsons cot has to be hung down the sterny way. The cannon balls have to be removed and replaced by resin ones, good job there already black. Cheers Warren Sort of likewise matey, I'm building the DeAgostini 1/84 version, but I'm still planking the hull so your not getting a proper feel of her size yet. Big beautiful Lady whether it's the Airfix, Heller or DeAgostini. Mr Fs is looking massiv innit!
foxy
Cheers folks for your comments.Been a bit remiss with this build, but hope to continue now my other builds have come to an end.Yep Jocko, I feel that to, but its getting to the top deck and soon can start on the real work involved, ie the rigging. Been fun though figuring out all below deck, with a little help from my friends. foxy
foxy
Well its back to the ship we are.Having added the ring bolts behind each gun it was the turn of the hatch's.The support for the netting I made of brass and fitted for size. Then it was a spray of Tamiya primer, once dry I painted a black coat of Admiralty paints.Again using Admiralty white for the runners holding the nets.Once dry fitted to the deck and cut/fitted netting around supports.Just a bit of fine tuning and job done. All three hatch's are complete now.foxy
foxy
Well now the main parts are fitted, it was down to the bits I have done earlier. No figures yet as I will position them once the Quarter deck is fitted. So it was down to the tubs/boxes.Next was Nelsons cot to hang up.Having spent enuff time on what you cannot see, I have now placed the quarter deck on, this in two halves so as not to damage any stuff below. This deck has been cleared of hatch's etc and will be planked. An overall picture. Will now leave to settle and get on with marking out the planking. Plus will add the supports for the boat area.foxy

Gimme Shelter
What is it about the Victory that is some overwhelmingly British and magnificent....she oozes the look of power and greatness. This build of yours really has me hooked, I know I shoudn't have as I have too many half builds but I have just bought myself this kit in the hope that I will make it (2nd time lucky in my case) 100% inspired by your build - can I blame you when the Mrs complains about the credit card bill please??? foxy
Cheers Martin. Hi GS.Nice one matey.Yep you have my permission to blame me, as long as you do not show this to your Mem Sihib!!!!. Well have fitted supports and done out the Captains quarters with the cheque pattern.Test fitted the mast,('yep they still came out upright')'Phew'.Next its the boarding pikes to fit to the fore and main masts,(Dafis wonderfull PE) once this is done the masts can be fixed.Foxy
