Some recommend lining up the top side when you join the front and rear fuselage- this will give the correct fuselage silhouette on the Hasegawa kits. There will then be a gap on the underside, to be puttied in- not a big job.

The second AC had its pit sorted with a little bit of painting to do.

Apologies for the lack of updates, ive had trouble with my photobucket account.

Any how, a bit of an update on CAT 1

Underside airbrushed 36495

Then it was time for 36320 for the 2nd colour.

Then masking the extension camo down the fuselage.

Nice model, with some good weathering.

And a very interesting subject too ! I've seen very few models of VF-103 aircrafts with the original "Sluggers" markings. And more, this looks like one of the early TPS painted aircrafts, again subjects not often seen in model form. Definitely a good choice !

Thanks Giorgio, I thought id do a different bird and when i saw the superscale sheet I thought thats the one. She is different and as you say we dont seem many in the early camo and an early frame.

Weathering was a new technique for Cats. Rather than the salt, i just used a mix of grey and dark brown oils with the grey first. Brushing on and then using a piece of cotton wool dabbed it on the model.

ill get the other Cat finished fore sure which will be an early Jolly Rogers kite.
