theplasticsurgeon
This kit:Here are the instructions and decals,Here are the parts. And here's my research:This kit offers two aircraft, the boxtop - and a grey development plane. It is the Royal Collection offering etched parts, white metal undercarriage and rubber tyres. Also flaps and slats can be lowered. The kit cost me 14 pounds at Cosford in 2013, and my plan is to build the White aircraft, with no additional spend on aftermarket stuff. Giorgio N
Looking forward to seeing this, I haven't seen many royal collection boxes being built ! These kits are not only good, they also have a lot of surplus parts that can be used on other Tomcats

theplasticsurgeon
Well again apologies for the slowest Tomcat ever. I've just fitted the cockpit and instrument decals. Currently all setting under a lot of Klear. Also removed the seam atop the canopy. That's been immersed in Klear and is currently curing. Giorgio N
The model is looking very promising ! I have to admit at being a little envious of the great fit you achieved, my Fujimi tomcat has been a nightmare until now...
theplasticsurgeon
Aerosolled White this morning, and started decals tonight. This Tomcat was modified and converted for new engines, and I had to remove the rearmost 10mm from each engine pod. This airframe is preserved on USS Intrepid, New York - and the model looks good to me. theplasticsurgeon
Well work is continuing - though I can't share it with you at the moment. I metal foiled all the leading edges last night, so we now look like a Tomcat. I've also painted the canopy frame, and am about to fit it. I am keeping photos for when my account resets itself next week.

theplasticsurgeon
Tonight I fitted the weapon pallets. I've got a photo of this plane with grey pallets during bomb testing. And I fitted the undercarriage doors.I've not got the correct bombs - so they will be acquired and fitted after the GB finish.

theplasticsurgeon
can be completed in time. So after England's defeat last night - I fitted the arrestor hook. Tonight I've fitted any remaining glazed bits, fitted the wing glove pylons, and painted the fuel tanks. More photos tomorrow, but hopeful of finishing before England come home.
