perdu Posted April 5, 2014 Posted April 5, 2014 that looks like a Vulcan Now get off the intertimewaster and finish her off then go to bed b 1
Cookenbacher Posted April 5, 2014 Posted April 5, 2014 Rob that camo looks awesome - I'd go as far as to say that it looks as good as the tiddler! Wow. Impressive work - drive safe tomorrow. 1
nimrod54 Posted April 5, 2014 Posted April 5, 2014 Few touch ups but getting there. I am having my doubts about weather or not I am gonna get this done. Is so close its making me angry. You just need a spell away from the bench Rob, you are doing really well mate. As I told you a few posts ago I would have probably been tempted to use it for discus practice a couple of times by now. This has been great fun to watch and I'm sure that if you had not had the added pressure of trying to complete it for a show then it would have given you more enjoyment that you've had already. Just take a you've gone above and beyond the call of duty already with this model and the camouflage looks brilliant, get yourself off to the show tomorrow and enjoy your day.

Martian Posted April 6, 2014 Posted April 6, 2014 She looks wonderful Rob! Don't spoil her now just for the sake of one show. There will be others and I'm sure the General will let you off jankers if she's not done. Martin 1

I made all the other 15 In the early hours of the morning with my Grandad while I was making sure he was ok. This one is sort of a tribute to him so it seems fitting I stay up and finish her. I may have to leave off the little ity bity parts but I dont see them as being that important. All she needs now is decals. and Varnish. Cheers Rob. I am concearnd about being late and not getting a space. What normally happen. Cheers Rob, Oh and I am glad you like her.

Fritag Posted April 6, 2014 Posted April 6, 2014 Great stuff Rob. Model making as a spectator sport? or maybe Model making meets 'Countdown'? I wish I was going to Cosford - if only to see her! 1
PlaStix Posted April 6, 2014 Posted April 6, 2014 That looks amazing! Well done. Hope you have a good day. I look forward to seeing more photos later. 1
robvulcan Posted April 6, 2014 Author Posted April 6, 2014 Cheers guys. Only 1 hours sleep. I am stupid. But the whole point of buying the kit was for cosford I could not put all that time and effort In for it to fight me off. In the end I knocked it into submission. There is still things to do at a later stage. Revisit undercarriage, add the little aerials antennae etc, and a few more stencils and another coat of varnish but she looks ok for now. Not bad given what a truly pathetic fit this particular pop of the mold was. Never have I had a kit fight me like this I am on my way but still at home and late leaving. Cheers Rob 1
JOCKNEY Posted April 6, 2014 Posted April 6, 2014 Gents any chance we can set up a camp bed for Rob behind the stall where the vulcans on show, just in case all these hours catch up with him ? Then when he's snoring away wheel him round the front put a sign up saying "completely knackered modeller 1:1 scale, scratch built etc" ! Well done mate, I hope you and the Vulcan get the recognition you deserve, your Grandads got a lot to answer for... Cheers Pat 1
RNoAF Aerobatic Team Posted April 6, 2014 Posted April 6, 2014 Congrats on the Vulcan. So much dedication;-) I am really impressed by the way you have built it and that you will spend the hole night to get her finished! 1

Revisit undercarriage, add the little aerials antennae etc, and a few more stencils and another coat of varnish but she looks ok for now. ...... and that is what makes this hobby so fascinating, there is always that little bit extra that you can add and improve on (skills permitting). You will have learnt a lot from this build Rob, and whilst you may feel that you never want to see another Vulcan for the foreseeable future I am sure that will soon pass. Looking forward to the next chapter of 'The Vulcan Saga'. 1
Martian Posted April 6, 2014 Posted April 6, 2014 Total respect to you Rob. I didn't think you would make it but she looks great. Martin 1
Mike Posted April 6, 2014 Posted April 6, 2014 Well done Rob so which aircraft are you under? Just listen out for the snoring 1
Cookenbacher Posted April 6, 2014 Posted April 6, 2014 Where are the fireworks? I really feel this one deserves some fireworks in celebration. All I could find was this bouncy 'wow' on a spring - it will have to do: Great job Rob! Thanks so much much for bringing us along. 1
