nacho bailon Posted February 19, 2014 Posted February 19, 2014 Hi all this is my diorama "Pedestrian crossing - Iraq 2003". Tried to be a funny one...:-) Vehicle is from Bronco (M1114), figures from Meng (civilians) and soldier from Legend (Sgt. Bravo). Chekpoint is from Migproductions. Hope you like it. Cheers Nacho 2
SeanM Posted February 22, 2014 Posted February 22, 2014 Very nice dio. M1114 looks great and the figures are excellent. Just two comments: 1 there would probably be more troops around 2 the windows on the Humvee are too dirty. A member on Aromarama previously commented on one of mine like this: one of the drivers duties is to clean the windows at any opportunity. You cannot see threats through dirty windows. It might even have been Sgt Bob himself, who the figure is based on.
nacho bailon Posted February 22, 2014 Author Posted February 22, 2014 Hi Sean thanks for your comments. Totally agree on both, specially in the second one. Yes... they should be clean in the real world. But when you start weathering the vehicle is really difficult to "sacrifice" the effect in pos of the reality ;-) Effectively the gifure is Sgt. Bob, not Bravo as I said. Ral nice figure. I came across the original Sgt. Bob photo in the internet but can not fid it now. Once again Thanks. Take note on the comments for the next ones. BRNacho
Mr Grumpylee Posted February 22, 2014 Posted February 22, 2014 A nice simple dio, I like it. Just wish I had the guts to even attempt one...well done
paganpete Posted February 22, 2014 Posted February 22, 2014 Good job, like the idea very much, love your detailing! Mr GLee(!), go for it - small steps, you will be surprised how involved you will get into just building the base (to the point where the model itself becomes almost irrelevant), start off with an easy dirt road, or a desert setup, then go from there! Pete

Olibob65 Posted February 23, 2014 Posted February 23, 2014 (edited) love this dio. i noticed the windscreen wipers as well but really like it, adds more realism, if not accurate, i know that doesn't make a lot of sense but hopefully you know what i mean. love the M1114 as well fantastic job, well done. nacho bailon Posted February 23, 2014 Author Posted February 23, 2014 Hi yes I know what you mean. As I said it is hard to stop the "wild horses" of creativity to save "accuracy" Cheers Nacho
billybookcase Posted February 23, 2014 Posted February 23, 2014 Lovely diorama, very well done in all respects. BB
batcode Posted February 27, 2014 Posted February 27, 2014 nice job looks great, nice job on the humvee
nacho bailon Posted March 1, 2014 Author Posted March 1, 2014 Thanks Batcode, yes sometimes I think humvee may be on its own, outside of the diorama :-)
