Yeah I'm enjoying the newer kits. Got myself a few older airfix kits from ebay along with newer. Got to say molds are better and instructions vastly improved.

I'm thinking of only temp fixing the wheels in place and getting Rhino wheel kit as permanent replacement.

Just realised some of the guys arms are going to look different as I just mixed paint in my pallet last night while watching Scanners on Film4 and forgot to paint them!

I've been well lucky in a recent eBay auction. Complete Airfix Patrol and Support group for £13 delivered so I've more to add to the Jackal kit, and I have the Warrior too :yahoo:

Have to seriously look at some kind of diorama now.

Recently bought the Forward Assault Group set. I am awaiting the photoetch for the Jackal so made a start on some crew and troops.

Wip on troops, an attempt at MTP camo.

Did you use black there?

The darkest colour in MTP is brown, pretty close to Tamiya NATO brown. The mid brown matches up close with Revell dark earth, though perhaps needs a hint of green. Buckles are a mid tan/stone colour.

I have a set of Osprey armour and pouches to hand if you would like pictures.

Yeah please if you don't mind. I was working from a crappy picture, the dark brown looked like black.

My mate just gone on exercise with his Reserve regiment. See if I can get some photos, apparently they have all mtp kit issued. No more mixing mtp with soldier 95.

The exercise seems suspiciously similar to a world event...

Various details.

Base colour is very subtle and fades from light to dark with an overlay of "splashes".

Dark brown is close to Nato, medium to Dark Earth, light is almost a "deck tan/buff" colour. Green is close to a pale cockpit green.

Note that MOLLE on issue kit is MTP, but on OEM hydration pouch is in a tan colour. Hydration pouch is multicam not MTP.

Pic of shoulder shows where I paintes out last users Zap number and blood group. Paint was Revell dark earth, close match but needs a green tinge.
