xtradecals?

Hi all, I'm planning on getting some aftermarket decals for a 1.32 eurofighter and a 1.48 hawk, eBay had come up trumps with many many schemes available (at least for the hawk, can only find one scheme for the eurofighter) they are nearly all made by xtradecals.

What are people's opinions/views of these decals? Are they easy to work with? I don't want to ruin them!

Thanks, Mark

The latter Xtradecals are very good. They are printed by Microscale, at least all of the ones I have, so their decal system works with the Xtradecals too. The early Xtradecals suffered from registry issues but still went down very well. I'd have thought that the ones that you are planning to use should be no problem whatsoever.

Thanks for the info! I've told the good lady that I want the eurofighter sheet for Christmas to go with my 1.32 eurofighter!

Yes I know it's a long way off but it was on sale for £29.99 in Rockbottom Toy Store in Southampton and are that price I couldn't say no.

I'll be able to order now, I never knew such a range of aftermarket decals existed!

Ditto above. They are nice and good to work with. Generally quite accurate but one set I have used lately with Ansons and Oxfords, had the fin flashes that were far too small and the underwing serials undersized too. But all in all pretty good.

I second the others comments on the good results that can be had with these decals, they are very thin but strong and the carrier film disappears using the Microscale liquids.

At the same time I agree that older sheets were often out of register, something quite annoying for an aftermarket decal sheet.

Speaking of accuracy, I have mixed feelings here... some sheets are accurate, others less so..
