Are these new as in Brand New or new as in re-released in a new box. A NEW Spit XIV would be marvellous but is it just their old one in a new box.

Re. the 1/72 kits

I think the duo-packs are their old kits reboxed....

But I really, really hope that the AH-64D is a new-tool kit to their recent standard

I'm dubious about all of them actually, they could all be old kits re-released. I had an Academy LA-7 till recently and the P-51B is surely an Accurate Miniatures re-box like the B-25.

New ain't new it seems

None of them are really new. Don't know about the Apache though. Hannants are listing the 48th kits. Also they seem to have a joint do with Italeri. The Herc as has been mentioned on here before and an all new ...dare I type it..JSF thingy which Italeri have already released, so seeing this in theAcademy catalogue might be a clue.

Re the AH-64 in 1/72, this is (allegedly) a new tool test shot by Academy:

http://mmzone.co.kr/mms_tool/mt_view.php?mms_db_name=mmz_forum&mms_cat=%5B%EC%A0%95%EB%B3%B4%5D&no=340077&keyword&where&mode&start_page=0

I can't find much more information at the moment; has anyone else seen or heard anything?

Saw that a couple of weeks back, if it's not the Academy kit, someone else is doing a top notch AH-64D!

No obvious options for the UK HIDASS, but Armourcast or somesuch could do the extra bits I'm sure

Google translate does not do Korean all that well!

Never mind what's new. Am I imagining things or is there a sudden dearth of Academy 1/72 Texans?

Last year there was a AH-64 Apache kit rumour by Cyber-Hobby

http://www.britmodeller.com/forums/index.php?/topic/234954742-172-boeing-ah-64a-apache-ah-64d-longbow-apache-by-cyber-hobby

Anyway I think it's time to open a dedicated topic for the future Academy Apache kit. Thanks AnstROM & Dave.
