Welcome and GB rules

Recommended Posts

Hello everyone.

Firstly a big thanks to Mish for her continued efforts as Group Build Moderator and Radleigh for being co-host.

I'm Mark and with Radleigh's help will be here to guild and encourage you all through the group build.

Welcome everyone to the 'Less Than A Tenner (LTAT) Group Build (GB). Here we are after all the gathering of interest, voting and the wait we can finally get on with the GB. Here is to a fun, simple and of course cheap GB. I hope you all enjoy what many come to think of as the perfect follow on to the Obsolete GB.

The spirit of the GB is to build simple kits while trying to avoid getting bogged down in after market and other issues that can stall a build from time to time. The price limit is to draw a line in the sand and keep things on a level. This is the price the builder paid for the kit whether it was bought in 1979 or today. It is also a chance for people to show their modelling skills without throwing the kitchen sink at it and try keep things OOB. I understand if people want to enter a kit they bought years ago or for less than the RRP at today's prices. This is all good and the builders choice. There is a bit of flexibility and a sort of trust to what people enter. Someone trying to enter say a 1:32 Tamiya P-51 that they claim to have bought for a fiver will be looked upon to be going against the spirit of the GB.

The rules to the GB are as follows.

1: The Group build will run from 00:01 1st Feb 2014 - 23:59 1st June 2014.

2: Kit must cost no more than £10 or foreign equivalent. This does not include postage costs.

3: Kits bought for less than the RRP or many years ago are included and we will have to take your word on that but please keep to the spirit of the GB.

4: Any Scale or Genre will be accepted.

5: No after market parts allowed. The only exception will be decals but preferably kit options. This again does not fall within the £10 price limit.

6: Scratch building is always welcomed

7: Spares box parts are allowed to be included but must constitute less than 20% of the build.

8: Entries must not be more than 25% complete at the start of the GB. If in doubt, please contact one of the GB co-hosts.

9: All builds must have a WIP thread showing progress. If you are building two or more almost identical models, they may be combined in the same thread.

10: No buying, selling or wanted items in the GB area.

11: There will be a poll to vote for your favourite build at the end of the GB. Please do not canvas for votes.

Most importantly - Have Fun. :fight:
