Radpoe Spitfire
Hello, does anyone know if there are any FE2B kits available please? I'd like to build one of the type as they flew from a nearby RFC aerodrome at East Retford, now Ranby Prison. Regards Adrian.

Paul Thompson
In 1/48th there was the Aeroclub kit, which is a very good limited run kit but I don't know if it's still available, although they do turn up on Ebay for silly prices, and occassionally at shows here in the UK for more sensible prices. You could contact John Adams and ask. In 1/72nd there was the Formaplane vac, which you don't see often. IIRC Formaplane are, suprisingly enough, still trading. There was also a resin by Plum Blossom, which I've never seen but was well reviewed when released. Rarer than hen's teeth though. Paul.
Viking
I've built the 1/48th Aeroclub and the 1/32 Wingnuts kits. Of the 2 WNW is the easier, but still requires patience and is a big fella to find a home for!AeroclubWingnut Wings Cheers John

A very few of the old Formaplane kits are available from Form-U-Lay http://www.form-u-lay.co.uk/planes.php The FE2b is one of them! Mike

Paul Thompson
Coincidence? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1-48-FE-2b-Aeroclub-Injection-/151208701045?pt=UK_ToysGames_ModelKits_ModelKits_JN&hash=item2334bdac75 Not mine or anything to do with me I must add! Not mine either. I've built one (smashed to bits a third party when moving house last year) and have another that I will build. (Excuses for drifting off topic a bit) FWIW, at least the starting price isn't enormous. There's someone on Ebay who regularly sells Aeroclub kits, and has 2 starting prices, one IIRC around £40.00 for the 1/72nd stuff, and one around 60 for 1/48th, regardless of if they're a vac like the old Sopwith Pup, or a much more involved multi-media effort like the Lightnings and Meteors. Actually, I don't know if he actually succeeds at those prices, and rather hope he doesn't................ Paul. John Aero
I loath Ebay and I too hope he does't. I would like the resurrect my FE2b for the Great War commemorations with some resin parts, new decals and etch. John

John Aero
All the airframe moulds are still around and the booms go together ok with the vacform jig I supply in the kit, it just needs updating. John.
