brewerjerry
Hi anyone know if the revell beau hercules engines and cowlings are the right size/shape etc Also is it correct that the kit is being re released in 2014 ? Cheers Jerry
bentwaters81tfw
They look fine to me, I have one on the stalled list at the moment. I did toy with the idea of making up the exhaust manifolds at one point. I was recently given another from someone's stash clearance. Looked like it had been left in an open box in the loft for 20 years or more. Close examination revealed it is missing the engines and props, and parts of the cowlings. Anyone do replacements? FZ6
Vector do a very nice looking albeit pricey. 1:32 Bristol Hercules. Only the 1:48 one appears to be available from the Neomega Resin site. But Ultracast have them. http://www.ultracast.ca/products/Vector/Engines/32-Scale/32-007/default.htm
woody37
I built one of these as a kid and put red LED's in to the fuselage. Long since departed but quite fancy doing another.

venomvixen
The engines are accurate but very basic. They are missing all the baffles, exhaust manifolds ignition cables and the like. They do up rather nicely with a wee bit of effort.
Max Headroom
Slightly off-topic here....... James Goulding who did Aircraft Illustrated's model reviews in the 1970's said that he did the drawings for Revell's Beaufighter. I remember reading that he said that he drew the assymetric aerofoil section for the tailplane (as happened with that for a 109). For whatever reason the mould maker ignored this and made both sides symmetrical. Trevor
