HP42
Evenin' all, Been following this news story in the Antarctic with the stranded folk on the research ship. The helicopter is the thing that's caught my eye. Ugly yet beautiful at the same time. It has made me consider buying a kit but I don't fancy tackling the finish without dedicated decals ....and there's the rub. Can't find any to suit this scheme. One day perhaps..... The story: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-asia-25585006 Better piccys and video: http://sobchak.wordpress.com/2014/01/02/b-7817/ The starting point for the kit: http://www.hannants.co.uk/product/ZVE7214 Alas no decals..... modelldoc
It's a Ka-32. Years before there was a kit of these helicopter from Maquette / Russia with russian polar flight markings. BTW, the kit is horrible, I made it some time before, but gave him south korean markings: http://www.flickr.com/photos/21603181@N08/11208356854/ I'm not sure, that this kit available now. modelldoc

The Maquette kit does look a bit basic in its mouldings compared to the Zvezda. Thanks for the heads up. The Zvezda is 15 notes from Hannants so it's a no brainer even if the Maquette was still around. He's one off the net, not sure what went into it but it does have more moulded detail. http://www.scale-rotors.com/galerie/1-utility-helicopters/890-kamov-ka-32-a12-zvezda.html I had a look at your other models and your Halton is fabulous! What's the story with that build? ...want one.....
modelldoc
Thank you very much, the Halton is the Airfix with a conversion set; don't know where it is from, I found it on ebay years before. The markings are collect from old kits. modelldoc
