Madmonk
I picked up this set off eBay a few months ago and want to try one of my lighting kits on it. I won't be using the whole kit, not over keen on the base so will be building the two TIE Fighters individually. Work so far. Back panel needs tidying up. Lights consist of Red LED with fibre guides and Blue LED for backlight to cockpit. Blue LED test fitted. Will be mounting it on its own base, more soon. Breaker
Really like how the blue catches on the back piece Warren. I've got this in my stash as well, real shame they're not in scale to Darth's TIE!
Madmonk
A DV TIE would be nice. I have 2 Fine Mold ones and will one day do a trench run dio with a X-Wing and two normal TIEs. Cheers, Warren
Madmonk
Little bit more done on the TIE.Cockpit finished and lit, also buttoned up ball. The LED for the red fibres is in the left wing support.Rear view showing fibres for rear lights.Apologies for the poor quality photos, had to use a slow shutter speed but couldn't find my tripod.Cheers,Warren

Windy
Can I ask where did you get the lighting kit from?
Madmonk
Hi Windy, I sell them under the Tirydium Models banner, the web store is here http://www.freewebstore.org/Tirydium-Models The kit on the store is for the Fine Mold version but can easily be modified for the AMT kit. It is almost complete so will post some more pictures this evening. Cheers , Warren
Windy
Thanks, I will take a look at your web store and I am looking forward to seeing your completed Tie Fighters as I picked up the same kit from ebay.
Mike
Well bless me! I didn't know they did an "ordinary" TIE Fighter... how did I miss that one? Lights are looking good Warren
Madmonk
Mike, Of the AMT kits I have to admit it is one of the better ones! Cheers, Warren
Madmonk
Just a couple of close up pictures of the cockpit lighting. Now the rear and the eagle eyed of you will noticed that there is only one red light, I accidently pulled the other fibre out when trying to remove the masking tape and other than stripping the whole thing down I will have to leave it as is.Cheers,Warren
Madhatter
Very effective lighting there Warren! The best thing is it isn't too bright and out of scale - so an extra "nice work" to you Si
