paganpete
I will start the ball rolling with a (non comprehensive*) list of training aircraft of the world, courtesy of militaryfactory - http://www.militaryfactory.com/aircraft/military-trainer-aircraft.asp So many choices! *there are missing aircraft in this list, but still a good choice for ideas. Wez
I don't know if anyone else is planning on a T-33 Shooting Star or CT-133 Silver Star but if so, this post pulls together some of the threads I've had running in recent weeks concerning this widely used trainer... First off there's this thread concerning Spanish T-33's in particular, http://www.britmodeller.com/forums/index.php?/topic/234951689-spanish-t-33-shooting-star-colour-scheme/ I managed to find a picture of the actual jet I plan to model at the AviationCorner.net site, you can search by aircraft type here http://www.aviationcorner.net/index_en.asp which may be a useful resoursce for those of you making different types especially if they've passed through Spanish airspace. Next, I asked about the blind flying hood which is often seen in these jets and for that matter, many other advanced trainers, the pupil, flying from the rear cockpit pulls this hood forwards to eliminate the outside world and forcing them to fly on instruments only. The redoubtable Murph came forward with a lot of detail and pictures about how this worked. The equally redoubtable James Craik came forward with a little nugget and a useful picture of how the Canadians used a slightly different arrangement on their jets! That thread can be found here http://www.britmodeller.com/forums/index.php?/topic/234952140-t-33-shooting-star-blind-flying-hood/ Lately I've been asking about interior colours - cockpits, wheel wells etc. Thanks to the contributors who've helped with this thread particularly Murph, Bertopinal and Don McIntyre for contributing many useful pictures which would be of immense help to anyone making a model of this jet. This thread is here http://www.britmodeller.com/forums/index.php?/topic/234952504-t-33-shooting-star-interior-colours/ Hope this is of use to anyone else making a T-33.
