bootneck Posted December 26, 2013 Share Posted December 26, 2013 I've received a Windows 8.1 thingy for Christmas so I thought I would download an app, for processing images of model kits etc., but find that there are literally dozens of them! johnd Posted December 26, 2013 Share Posted December 26, 2013 Mike, Good advice above, Photoshop CS2 is indeed available as a free download and GIMP too is a good freebie though a little more difficult to use. Picasa is a favourite of mine, it organises my photos and fixes them quickly on a 'one touch' basis most of the time. It certainly does crop and resize but I don't know what you mean about warp... If I can download Photoshop CS2 and use that on my ultrabook then the problems will be solved. Thanks for the heads up and I'll give it a try tomorrow. Warp is that feature in Photoshop where you can pull out the edges (i.e. if you've not taken your photo square on and the frame looks tapered) to make all sides level etc. Thanks again Mike Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Being a freebie, you have to wade through various 'download FREE!' buttons that in fact only download file converter widgets and suchlike to find the actual app, but it is worth the shopping time. zipplex Posted December 27, 2013 Share Posted December 27, 2013 Hi Mike Basically the free Photoshop download was an almighty own goal by Adobe, it was never mean't to be free to everyone but only users who had a legitimate copy of the CS2 suite who complained when the activation servers were shut down. But then again if you are going to put up download links AND codes you reap what you sow. The download page is still available but it seems you need an Adobe account to get to it. PM on way.
