thepureness
amazing work there, one of my favourite lightning schemes. I have this kit in the stash and if it turns out even 10% as good as yours i'll be happy. That is a fantastic result, legendary

Pedro 66
I was worried that I'd overdone the shading, but I've seen some shabby Lightnings photos. Any more & I think it wouldn't look right. I was planning to do 5 Squadrons CO jet with the red tail, but as soon as I saw I had decals for the sharks mouth I fell for that one. Tomjw
Wow. No matter how hard I try, I cannot get my work to look as good as that. Very impressed. Cheers, Tom.
Kallisti
Very nice I build a camo version of a 5 Sqn Frightning a couple of months ago. This one looks gorgeous!
Pedro 66
Hi Tom,I used to struggle with the finish, but I changed a few things.Firstly was moving from enamel to acrylics. I'd never go back apart from humbrol matt varnish, and black and white for my bits & pieces like undercarriage bays & tyres, etc. Humbrol is better than I used to know, it just takes a long time to dry.Secondly I used to use pastels to break up the lines of a model, but its VERY unpredictable. I use pre-shading now & have done so for the past 6-7 models that I've made recently. That's made the difference for me as you have total control on how much you let show through. I'm still learning this method, as my MH-60 was one of my first jobs I did like this, and isn't as good as I'd like, but I'm a lot happier with the Lightning. woody37
I've never been a fan of the grey scheme, but think I've just been converted! This is beautiful, now think I will be doing this scheme when I build my 1/48th

pittnuma
Darn that's nice detailing, how did you pick out and accentuate the panel details? Presumably that is not pre shading (plz excuse the ignorance)/=.
sailorboy61
Nice looking plane. Can't wait to get on with one of mine once I've cleared the bench.
Pedro 66
Hi Darren, It is preshading, plus some paint in the panel lines too. Some say its too much but I like the effect. Tony
