Hi all This is on of my 3 entries for the fantastic Obsolete Kit GB. It has been really good fun and the hosts Enzo and Col were fantastic as was Mish and everyone who took part.

I was invited with my Old hasegawa Foxbot build. Which I will post later.

However after that I got the itch to make more and after coming back from Telford I have not stopped modelling since (I think I picked up some bug I am modelling more than ever...)

So with that I entered with this delightful Old Kit and a Matchbox Jaguar that did not get finished in time.

This kit is old and basic but the fit is great and it looks like a Harrier. Excellent for when it was made but not the most accurate perhaps but I love it.

I sprayed it with Humbrols excellent new spray cans HU163 and HU164. Blue tak masked, Other paints for the engines and interior were Revel Aqua and Citadel paints.

I did drop her and smash the tail wing off the day before the end.... But I rectified that thankfully...

Here she is Many I had to take the photos of her on my knee in the car as I was so close to the deadline but I love how she looks in the blueish light of night.

Cheers Rob ;)

WIP is here : http://www.britmodeller.com/forums/index.php?/topic/234950210-matchbox-harrier-gr3/

Hi there Fallmonk. Glad you like them Yes the GB was brilliant fun I am sad its over. My Jaguar is nearly done. I need to do better photos of the Foxbat will do soon.

Well I use Gimp its a free to use program like photoshop nearly as good I say just as good and better seeing as its free and photoshop Is hundreds of pounds...

I place the model on a stick with lots of blue tak to hold it then I carefully photo it against the sky on my iphone.

Then I take the photos and use the clone stamp tool with a soft edge zoomed right in. then work out to clone the sky over the pen holder. As I zoom out I increase the size of the stamp until Its full size to blend the sky as best I can.

I then desaturate the photo to add distance and then add a motion blur to the whole image.

sometimes I add the jet trails with the paths tool and others tools on there. but this is just the above.

Its all good fun. I missed the pitot tube though. Still on the sprue I ran out of time for the GB dead line for that and these aditional photos so I posted here.

Glad you like it Cheers Rob ;)

Nice work, and love what you've done with the photos. I reckon that if you shooped the plane into a twilight woodland setting that would look epic.

Wow, I thought it was the real thing in those two first photos. Nice job lad!!!!

Great nice to know the trickery works than ahaha. Cheers mate

It would look cool if I could make her look like she is flying low over some woodland I will have ago when opportunity presents itself.

Very nice....

Now go do another.... :goodjob:

Maybe an Indian Navy T4......

:evil_laugh:

Well there are plenty more harriers on the stash to be made. I have a heller T4 clipped together at the moment unpainted. Looks nice and cant wait to get her glued up and painted. Its cool having a kit you can clip together to see what she looks like then take apart and build up properly.

Cheers Rob
