bootneck Posted January 9, 2014 Posted January 9, 2014 Looking forward to that. And it comes as Marching or Deployed! cheers Mike
Rob P Posted January 9, 2014 Posted January 9, 2014 I can see the diorama now, Harrier coming in at treetop height dropping ordnance. Might just have to get one. 1
Flankerman Posted January 9, 2014 Posted January 9, 2014 I've been waiting for this release ever since I saw the moulds at Zvezda last September........ Ken
general melchett Posted January 9, 2014 Posted January 9, 2014 Me too Ken, looking good and hopefully worth the wait...
Flankerman Posted January 10, 2014 Posted January 10, 2014 I was chatting (through an interpreter) to the guy who was designing it on his CAD PC - and asked why they weren't doing the Topol-M (with its 16-wheel chassis.) He smiled and replied in Russian that even I could understand......... Zekret !!! It is still too classified for them to do it .... yet. I love those multi-wheel MAZ TEL's - I've done a resin SCUD - plus the S-300 'Grumble' and support vehicles from PST - all in 1/72 scale. I've also got a ZZ Models(?) Iskander somewhere............. Ken (too many models and not enough time...)
Rob P Posted January 10, 2014 Posted January 10, 2014 Not a bad price either considering the size. Hannants have it listed as £27.50.

Same here Ken, especially as there are quite a few detailed photos available of the thing....great option for schemes too ! still not grumbling, just great to see it at all, who knows maybe later..!
Albeback52 Posted January 12, 2014 Posted January 12, 2014 Even in 1/72 it looks like it will be a fair size. Certainly an impressive parts count!!. Wonder who'll be the first to produce a missile to go with it!! Be nice to have one for display alongside the launcher. Allan 1
Pin Posted February 7, 2014 Author Posted February 7, 2014 On sale in Russia as of this week - only heard the word of praise so far
Truro Model Builder Posted February 7, 2014 Posted February 7, 2014 This is well and truly out of my usual subject range for building, but I am mighty tempted. 1
Flankerman Posted February 7, 2014 Posted February 7, 2014 (edited) Melchie said:- still not grumbling, just great to see it at all, who knows maybe later..! If you're not 'grumbling' - you won't be doing the PST S-300 then ?? Sorry..... I'll get my coat. Ken Edited February 7, 2014 by Flankerman 1

Mike Posted February 13, 2014 Posted February 13, 2014 Is it even worth holding out til It's done in 1:35, or should we cave in?
Giorgio N Posted February 13, 2014 Posted February 13, 2014 This is well and truly out of my usual subject range for building, but I am mighty tempted. Same here ! It looks impressive and the price is good for all that plastic
magman2 Posted February 13, 2014 Posted February 13, 2014 Model Hobbies had them for £28.79 Free P+P. and yes I purchased one
sinnerboy Posted February 13, 2014 Posted February 13, 2014 I'm so disappointed...I saw this was coming of couple of weeks ago ( picture at Nuremberg I think) and just presumed it was 1/35...oh well
magman2 Posted February 14, 2014 Posted February 14, 2014 The Topol Kit is not my usual scale, but it will make a nice desk top model. Net Photo
Caution Wake Turbulence Posted February 14, 2014 Posted February 14, 2014 I'm so disappointed...I saw this was coming of couple of weeks ago ( picture at Nuremberg I think) and just presumed it was 1/35...oh well Just stand a bit closer, and it'll look that bit bigger! Worked for Peter Jackson. Andrew
Rudolf_Filip Posted February 15, 2014 Posted February 15, 2014 Does it come with figures? Dan and Chevy? :-) 1
Flankerman Posted February 16, 2014 Posted February 16, 2014 No crew figures - and no interior for the crew compartment (seat, steering wheel etc.). The instructions show the interior as being black - which will hide a lot - but AFAIK, the real thing is pale blue-ish - bit like Sky. On the plus side, you can make two 'variants' - on the road and ready to launch (although there is no missile inside the launch tube). For the launch variant there are different parts incorporating the massive jacks that raise the vehicle up off its wheels. There are two complete sets of the 14 stub axles - with a 'drooped' set for the raised variant - how is that for attention to detail??? You need to study the construction notes carefully - especially those stub axles - to build the correct 'variant' This is one of those kits that come along occasionally that make me drop everything to build it .... I'll post a WIP if wanted?? Ken
