Jazzy Jase
Hi Britmodellers, It's been around 10 months since I last did any modelling. I've been suffering from a severe case of modellers block and also some personal issues. Trying to get mojo back has been difficult. My (very understanding) wife actually came up with the solution when she suggested moving my modelling desk from the garage to the dining room for a while. I didn't want to crack-on with the P-51 I've been tinkering with, fearing being overwhelmed by all the aftermarket goodies I have intended for it, so I decided to build this old N1K1 I had in the stash, pretty much OOB. I really like the artwork on the box, so I'm going to be reasonably restrained with the weathering; None of the massive paint chips you normally see on these models. N1K1-1 by Jazzy Jase, on Flickr I've finished the small and simple cockpit. Enhanced with some lead wire behind the instrument panel and seat belts made from a leftover Coke can. N1K1-2 by Jazzy Jase, on Flickr I airbrushed Tamiya acrylics, and hand-painted the details with Vallejo Model Colors. I'm not concerned about their accuracy. Having fun is the name of the game with this one. N1K1-3 by Jazzy Jase, on Flickr Weathering consisted of Mig filters and finally some Mig pigments to dirty it up a subtly. Jazzy Jase
Slow progress, but progression nonetheless Engine and prop done. There's 40 lengths of wire in that engine. N1K1-5 by Jazzy Jase, on Flickr Painted with Alclad, Tamiya acrylics and Vallejo Model Color. Weathered with Mig pigments and potions.
