Avantgarde Model kits AMK Kfir C2

IMG_7591_3_zpsfd5596da.jpg

the new and very comprehensive Kfir decals sheets " Dazzling Kings I & II" with lots of stencils in English, Spanisch, etc, to build nearly any Kfir that is not operated by the Israeli AF/DF

It will be a Sri Lankan Air Force (SLAF) C2 with very spartan markings with the Pre 2008? roundels

Interestingly SLAF Kfirs are equiped with the newer (MK10?) ejection seat (according to all pics I found on the net)

which cockpit would the informed one use in this Kfir? the C2 or the C7 version? These kfirs seem to be a hybrid... :~

now the AMK kit:

The kit is very nice! Close to Tamiya quality in my opinion! Very clear panel lines, superb fit, it nearly falls together!

thanks for looking and thanks as well for any kind of criticism and ideas !

sorry for the late & small update:

intakes painted offwhite, cockpit primed

and for illustrating how well the kit fits together:

NO glue used yet!

especially around the air intakes... :) :)

IMG_7646_2_zps9b62c723.jpg

and fuselage - wing - air intake fit.. marvelous!

red warning markings to be masked for future work!

thanks for looking and comments!

I used an Aires resin nozzle as a replacement of the inner details lacking AMK one. The Afterburner section of AMK is quite nice, so I left it as is.

although quite a lot will be hidden , the outstanding inner detail makes the effort worth it in my opinion!

Looks awesome mate. Was dubious that a grey Kfir might look a bit dull but it really doesn't!

Howard

its even more colourful than that!

the Multipe ejector rack "NAPGACH" seem to be to be an adapted MER: still unpainted though

have not decided on an external load yet- shoulder pylons (2 versions in the kit! ) or centerline NAPGACH or even (correct size :) ) supersonic tank?

Aztec's decals work quite well, the red markings seem to be a bit broad for the danger markings though

  • 7 months later...

AMK supplies a muliple ejector rack, similar ot a US MER the Israeli NAPGACH with 4 Mk-82 GP bombs,

I'm not sure if all six would fit in theory, so I mounted only 4:
