Paul J
Can't see the Spitfire V listed on future realeases. According to Hyperscale there is a Mark 14 set (XIV) to 1/48th with illustrations and all!! Did you mean this one? If so it could be a new 48th Spit from Airfix in the form of a 14 to follow on from the PR19.!!!!
Steven
No its on the web site above the Tiger Moth sheet in the future release section.. Its X72187 Regards Steve Edited November 25, 2013 by Steven
Test Graham
Airfix do give us a Spit Mk.Va in the Mk.I/II box, look for the oil cooler.
Procopius
If so, here's hoping it's a Vc! Wez Oh no, I could never. Sword has given us a perfectly serviceable Vc, whereas there's no good and accurate Vb in 1/72.
Paul J
No its on the web site above the Tiger Moth sheet in the future release section.. Its X72187 Regards Steve Thats strange. It doesn't show up when I look at the website where you say. Only by selecting the drop down menus does it come up And no real description. BUt no matter as it doesn't really interest me that much. But this is the link to HS and the 48th set: http://www.hyperscale.com/2013/reviews/decals/x48127reviewdw_1.htm BUT this is interesting! Someone must be coming up with a Mark XIV in 48th sometime.... or is t meant for the Academy kit????
Steven
Looks like I could be right about Airfix releasing a Mkv...
Rabbit Leader
Looks like I could be right about Airfix releasing a Mkv... And this also adds a little more substance that this new kit will be in 1/72 scale. Seeing the Tiger Moth has been mentioned somewhere here as a January release, perhaps with this decal sheet in the pipeline this Spit may also be not far off. Xtradecal have already given us a Vb sheet (x72130) so, perhaps, fingers crossed with a cherry on top - this new sheet is for a dedicated Spitfire Vc? .. There a numerous Malta based and RAAF schemes that I'd love to do, I just want a good, accurate, easily sourced and cheap kit.. Along with the Blenheim, the Vc was high up there on my lists of 2014 wishes.. Cheers.. Dave
Navy Bird
Just curious (since the Sword Spitfire Vc is nearing the top of my insulation pile) - does it have some errors that I don't know about? I always thought it was a pretty good kit. I haven't seen a bad review yet, but I may not have seen them all. Cheers, Bill
Rabbit Leader
Bill, I've only heard good reports about the Sword kit as well, however it seems to be a little harder to obtain and a tad more expensive than what I believe Airfix could produce it for. There are just too many good choices out there to just build one Vc, so if Airfix are good for this rumoured word, then I for one will match your insulation pile stash... Cheers..
