robvulcan
Hi Rob. Just want to fall in with the rest of the guys here and compliment you on an incredibly amazing job. Oh, and to tell you that I hate your guts for setting the standard so high.. Have you any idea the pressure you put on the rest of us mortals? Hi there Po.Prune I am glad you like her. I think she looks great and very happy with how she turned out maybe I should neglect my sleep more often.. Though I am not very sure about setting the standards so high there are a very many great modeller on here who put my work to shame. Here is the Mk1 1/24th I was on about I have kept track of it because its so amazing. Its Fozzy's build on here and I am quite confident the bloke could perform Brain surgery successfully, It took Him 3 years !!!! Now that is dedication.. Cheers Rob :linky: http://www.britmodeller.com/forums/index.php?/topic/62675-124-scale-cutaway-spitfire/
robvulcan
Well here is the mirror It is my first time messing around with foil. A fiddly yet satisfying thing it seems. I am not tempted to Foil a Lightning or Starfighter perhaps.. HMM.. Its just some Kitchen foil burnished flat, cut to approximate size. placed over some water resistant evostick PVA with the excess wiped off with a dampend cotton bud then final positioning then burnished down with a dry cotton bud. I am really happy with this and I think I picked this technique up off BM's own Mike as well as Den (Spitfire) So thanks again chaps. I would not have thought of it. That's another of many reasons to love BM. Some quick shots off the mirror fitted with PVA I also put the aerial on with PVA. I figured with PVA smaller item that might get knocked off have a better chance of the glue breaking before the item so them can have the PVA picked off and re applied. Were as with the Poly once its gone its gone.. This never occured to me before. When my Foxbat returns in the transport case I will take her out when the wind ceases and we have some sun to get some decent photos of her for the RFI but the weather has been awful here. We have lovely sun at least but the wind nearly blew me over and I am not light.. Cheers Rob

I hope that you had a good Christmas and all the best for the New Year. Cheers mate glad you like her. I cant wait to get her to a nice photo location. Might not be quite finished with this yet as my dad wants to make it a little dio with figures and a truck possibly. I must admit I like the idea of developing the base a bit and giving the spit something to work/interact with. all helps with the imagination being fired off. Hope you have had a Great Christmas and all the best for the New Year if I don't speak to you before. Cheers Rob

robvulcan
Hi Pat cheers for the nice comments there. Well It ws a close call the thing that made this kit so time consuming was the amount and size of attachment points to the sprue. Ages was spent on delicate filing and cutting. This think took all my spare time and half or more of my normal sleep for a month. By the time Christmas had passed I was knackerd. I have had a break from modelling for the last few weeks not because I dont want to, I just needed to catch up on a great many other things and still doing so. Looks like I've missed KUTA this year. But may have a little KUTA of my own soon. There are plenty to finish. Many thanks for the nice comments this is my first time logging on in a few weeks but as the weather hopefully starts to settle I will hopefully have the chance to take this spit outside for her RFI Photoshoot. I may do a video on her too as some of my YouTube subscribers have asked for that. It's been fun and that's what it should be Cheers Rob
