1/16TH Blue Thunder

Recommended Posts

Hello all

After having not posted anything for a while I though it was time to start something worth doing

Recently I visited this years IPMS model show and was inspired to do something a little bit interesting....a16th scale bluethunder scratch build

This chopper has always been of inspiration and what better to do it in such a large scale.I Have completed the main moulds vac form and starting work on the cockpit interior to which i am taking to a superior level of detail. Please forgive the speed of my posts as this is my first major scratch build and it takes me some time..please see photos below of work so far

ENJOY :)20131121_083057_zps491b6f00.jpg20131122_163502_zpsa7b2d260.jpg20131121_083122_zps22eec3fd.jpg20131122_174931_zpsf2169ab9.jpg20131122_194722_zpsb1d3387c.jpg20131122_194734_zps28041002.jpg

The film was corny in a lot of places.

Technically quite silly in places.

But I still love to see it rise above the bridge parapet.

And the chase sequences were very well filmed for the time.

It would be all CGI nowadays.

Watching with interest.

Thanks

Pete

It was, but it was still fun. Both Blue Thunder and Airwolf. I was in my teens when they first aired and I always remembered the silly playground arguments over which helicopter was the best.

I didn't enter into such immature banter because I knew Airwolf was the best. Oh, damn - I typed that out loud didn't I.
