Vickers Vimy - COMPLETE

Recommended Posts

Hi Pin,

Your model looks fantastic! Only one remark: although you made a great work on the wooden props, they were most probably covered with linen and painted grey - at least most part of the blade. Please google for photos of the RAF Museum and Science Museum examples.

Thanks Carlos,

I've studied that - the pics from Windsock show both gray and natural wood props

Some museum machines also exhibit wooden props, although most of the museum birds are replicas

What a great result - well worth all the effort!

Nice to see the Vimy posed with the other bombers too. I particularly like the Il'ya Muromets - which kit is that Pin? I've got the Maquette offering and possibly might do it for the upcoming WW1 GB (or maybe not!).

Cheers

Cliff

Thank you fellows :)

Ilya Muromets is an ICM kit - far better than Maquette

That's really nice, I've seen some great builds from this era inspiring me to do some research into kits and maybe have a go myself. Looking forward to your next offering, well done!
