Shar2
Finally finished this rather difficult kit. It fought me all the way, but I think it's come out ok, although it's far from my best work. Just glad it's all over.
Mike
That's a lovely clean build Dave, and lots of patience expended on those yellow wing stringbags on the deck. Speaking of deck, it looks clean enough to eat your dinner off
Shar2
Yes it is deliberately clean, it's a display model not a weathered depiction of the real ship.

Panzer Vor!!!
Like this a lot, very very good chap. I like your models museum style better than weathered, doesn't suit ships.
colin
Lovely build and finish, did you make the base or is it purchased as it looks like its edged for a cover Thanks Colin
Shar2
Thanks Colin. The base is bought from a chap in my local club. I'm just waiting for him to complete the glass cover.

swordfish fairey
She is a beauty Dave, great work mate. Does the Tom's Modelworks detail set include the nets around the flight deck?? I'm watching one on the Bay of E at the moment and it doesn't look like it............Smudge

alex
very nice. And I agree - a ship on a display stand looks better if kept clean... Alex
Forlornhope
Very nice job, I didn't see it mentioned in your WIP but great job on the yellow deck lines did you use the decals or paint them? I like the pre war look with the colourful airgroup. Well done on sticking with it and getting her finished Cheers Callum
AndyC
Now I see the result of all the grousing in the car park before SMW! Looks great Dave - I love that air wing. She was quite a 'modern' looking vessel for her time?

dfqweofekwpeweiop4
I hope Trumpeter decide to release a late WW2 Saratoga, from when she was painted in dazzle camouflage (1/700 for me though!). For those who don't know HMS Victorious was 'loaned' to the US Navy, as they were short of carriers after the 1942 battles and prior to the Essex class coming into service. HMS Victorious and USS Saratoga formed a task force and Victorious was known as USS Robin. I'm sure my Grandad said he saw Saratoga, while he was on HMS Relentless in the Indian Ocean. His flotilla often escorted major allied warships across the Indian Ocean. thanks Mike
