sunray
Here is my first attempt at 1/48 scale with Academy's P40 Tomahawk IIb. The kit is an OOB build with a bit of detail added to the cockpit, wheels, etc. The paints used were Tamiya and Vallejo. The kit was a straight forward build costing only £7.99.CheersIan
rmcclure
I like that an awful lot and you've got that shark's mouth decal to sit really well without a hint of silvering. I really do have to have a go at one of these. Anything to look out for in the build? Cheers, Roger
theanorak73
ooh, that is nice. just the right amount of weathering and the panel lines are clear without being OTT
sunray
Thanks Roger. The only problem I came across was with the tail wheel. It seemed to me to be a little short so I cut off the tail wheel strut, drilled a small hole in the wheel and added a replacement strut made from a pin. It does the job and it is rock solid. jettnett2003
Very nice looking Hawk, especially how you have managed to get that mouth decal to look as though it is painted on.
Tim T
I've got one of these in the stash that I picked up in one of the Modelzone sales (probably the same one as you!). I like that a lot. Makes me want to have a crack at mine.

colin
Very nice, shows you don't need really expensive tamigawa kit to get a fine looking model
Jonners
Really first attempt at 1/48? Wow! Superb work; that sharkmouth looks like it's painted on and the painting is very slick. Jon

85sqn
Really nice, I built the same one last month, absolutely cracking value. I also found the tail wheel to short!

Paramedic
Excellent build..! Love that paintjob and the weathering - especially on the underside. Have been eyeing this kit for some time as well, might have to get it now..

burncpt
Kinda makes me wish I hadn't bothered to cut mine up in the name of making it look more accurate - I lost steam for it and it's sitting looking forlorn. Must strip it down (it is being used as a paint tester) and paint it properly! Nice paintwork sir!
georgeusa
I just picked this kit up yesterday, (like I need another kit. 0 built this month, but 4 bought!!! Just ain't right/). I will be intentionally and without any hestitation attempting to copy your results with your kit. Simply beautiful. I don't think I will stoop to stealing your pictures and claiming its mine, but you never know. Your build is just that good.
