1/48 Eduard MkIXC Spitfire, 132 Wing, North Weald, 1943

Recommended Posts

Good morrow fellow modellers,

I present my latest off the bench. Eduard's 1/48 Spitfire Mk IXc(early) as EN177 of 132 Wing, North Weald, 1943. This was the Norwegian squadron. This is the overtrees edition, built OOB with the addition of the Vingtor Decals and Eduard PE for the kit. Modelmaster and Aeromaster enamels. Finished off with Testors Matt lacquer, Tamiya weathering pastels and a silver pencil. The weathering was kept minimal as the references state the Norwegian crews were a bit fastidious with their aircraft!

This really was a pleasurable and relaxing build. Any errors are of my own making and not contributable to Eduard's engineering.

Very tasty build indeed! Personally, I like when the weathering is hinted and understated, just like yours.

Extra points in modellers' heaven for the green crowbar! ;-)

The wash emphasising the gap betwen the stabiliser and the elevators looks a bit unfinished, doesn't it though?

Excellent modelling!

Kind regards,

Joachim

Most excellent, I love her! Nicely done weathering!

I am building one right now, everything is sweet though I have a little tricky time to fit the wings to the fuselage (it is too wide) - did you too?

Oh, the wheels seems to be a bit tilted, no?

Great job, thanks for sharing!

It is a tight fit but maybe a swipe with a sanding stick will fix that.

The wheels should be angled out slightly. There is a diagram in the instructions and other photos. I may have over compensated a wee bit!

Great job, thanks for sharing!
