RAFGSA L-13 Blanik (274) colour scheme / pictures?

I need help to determine the true colour scheme from the RAFGSA L-13 Blanik glider n°274 as proposed in the AZModel/Admiral kit (http://www.britmodeller.com/forums/index.php?/topic/234946793-148th-let-l-13-blanik-new-tool-by-azmodel-raf-markings-released/?hl=blanik)

If I compare the AZ Model box art and proposed colour profile they does'nt entirely fit with the only picture I've found from this glider. Does it exist more pictures - by preference colour pictures! - from this particular glider at this time of its life?

The same (?) glider in 1981 : http://www.abpic.co.uk/photo/1058576/

I do not think we can say that the airframe in the photograph is the same airframe illustrated by AZ.

As far as I can tell the RAFGSA had at least four Blaniks at various times.

At one stage at least three were all registered with two-digit R numbers on the fins. This seems to have changed in the case of the one later example I can find a picture of.

Blanik R12 was recorded by John Adams at Syerston in 1976. It later became BGA 2067, and then carried the registration mark DEY. I can't find a definite picture of it but believe it to be this one, seen here derelict at Shipdham airfield.

There was R74, seen here at Cosford: some details here - http://www.abpic.co.uk/photo/1062314/

And there is the one portrayed by the kit decal sheet, which has 326 on the nose and what appears to be a temporary 274 on the fin. The only picture I can find is the black and white one you included in your post above. I think there is a good chance this is a fourth airframe rather than being a re-paint of one of the others.

Sorry I can't give any definitive answers.

Do they make an L-23 Super Blanik??

I don/t think there is a kit available of the L23 at all, however I have some excellent drawings should you wish to scratch build one.

So many L13's are now time expired and have been left abandoned or sold for scrap. A pity as it was nicer to fly than the later Super Blanik in my opinion.

Sorry about the thread derailment.
